American Sweetheart, actress Julia Roberts, who owns two penthouses in Manhattan, recently listed her Greenwich Village apartment at 45 West 10th St. for sale for $4.5 million.
Described as “easy and breezy with a magical feeling” by listing agent Alexa Lambert of Stribling & Assoc., the apartment offers views of the Village, and features clean contemporary decor with a light bright color palette. Architectural details include an open floor plan, fireplace, hardwood floors and stainless professional-grade appliances.
With 2,000 square feet, the three-bedroom, three-bath co-op is in a 1958-era building, sited on what was formerly the Tenth Street Studio Building, where a number of Hudson River painters had studios. Roberts bought the property in 2010 for $3.9 million, but since she spends most of her time in California and New Mexico, it appears she doesn’t need two homes in the city. At this point, she’s holding onto her 7 Gramercy Park West apartment, which she bought in 1993 and is currently renting out according to the New York Post.
Also for sale is Roberts’ oceanfront, two-acre Hanalei, Hawaii estate, at 5204 Weke Rd. According to Zillow, she listed it earlier this year with Hawaii Life realtor, Neal Norman, for $29.85 million. This 3,792-square-foot property, classified as a vacation rental in tax records, comprises seven bedrooms and four bathrooms.
This fall, Roberts will star in “Secret in Their Eyes” with Nicole Kidman, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Dean Norris, and she’s filming “Money Monster,” directed by Jodie Foster, and also starring George Clooney and Dominic West.
