Best Places to Spot Celebrities in Miami

By: Priscilla Blossom, August 8, 2015

Between the pristine beaches and never-ending parties, it’s no surprise that Miami is a haven for celebrity sightings. Dine on South Beach often enough and you’ll find yourself ordering the same cocktail as some TV starlet sitting at the bar. Spend a day on the sand and you just might spot a supermodel working on their tan. And chic locals know that frequenting certain nightclubs will guarantee a brush with a famous hip-hop mogul or some pop sensation celebrating their 21st birthday. If you’re itching to get a selfie with your favorite star or just want a good celebrity story to tell, venture out to these five spots:

Prime 112

Ocean Drive’s Prime 112 is a contemporary steakhouse that’s a hit with big-name celebrities. Reality television royalty like Kim and Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner have all been spotted dining here, as have actress Cameron Diaz, NFL star Terrell Owens, and even former President Bill Clinton. Make reservations, order the lobster mac n cheese, and keep your eyes peeled.

With a reputation for being one of the best nightclubs in the world, LIV is frequently the party spot for jet-setters and VIPs. Located inside the world-renowned Fontainbleu Hotel (another favorite of the stars), LIV is where household names like Miley Cyrus, Pharell, and Drake go to blow off steam. Dress to impress and you just might catch a glimpse of Calvin Harris or Lil Wayne just beyond the velvet rope.

Soho Beach House

Luxury and privacy abound and the Soho Beach House, an exclusive oasis for A-listers vacationing in Miami. If you’re lucky enough to have a membership at this elite club, you’ll definitely run into someone like Courtney Cox or Nick Jonas at the pool. With a strict, no-cell phone policy in place, this is the place where celebrities go because they know they won’t be bothered.  It’s why people like Leonardo DiCaprio and Katie Holmes make it their Miami home away from home.

Churchill’s Pub

To locals, Churchill’s Pub is the grimiest punk-rock dive in town. But this Little Haiti music venue and watering hole is also a favorite spot for punk rock god Iggy Pop, who’s lived in Miami since the mid-1990s. Other famous sightings here include the Miami Beach cast of MTV’s Real World and U2.

American Airlines Arena

While the Heat aren’t what they were a few years ago, that doesn’t mean Miami and its array of local celebrities don’t still have lots of love for them. The AAA is where people of all walks of life go to enjoy a good game of basketball, and more often than not, they get to do it alongside folks like Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, or Gloria and Emilio Estefan . Plus, this is the best way to catch a glimpse of your favorite ballers like Dwayne Wade up close, so it’s totally a win-win.
